Medication Administration – Day Care

• On most occasions the service users’ medication will be administered in the residences.  However, there may occasionally be a situation where a service user may require the administration of prescribed medication within the day care setting.

• On such occasions, the medication will be brought to the day care setting in an appropriate container, e.g. dosette box.

• This will be accompanied with a copy of the relevant Marr sheet which should be initialled at the time of administering.

• The Marr sheet and container should be returned to the residence on the Friday of each week.

• Medication administering will be witnessed and signed by day care staff, as appropriate.
