Our service users enjoy a caring, stimulating and supportive
environment, where they are assisted to maximise their own personal development,
working and achieving at their own pace. Each user of our service is encouraged to make choices
about decisions which affect their lives, even if that choice is limited to his
or her own level of ability. On our Expertise
page you can discover the wide range of disabilities covered within Hayfield. Hayfield’s
unique service is delivered by over forty highly skilled and experienced members
of staff working
in a signing environment.
Effective communication skills are paramount to our work and underpins
its success. Our policy is to ensure that all employees are trained in the use of
British Sign Language, which is often the first and preferred language of Deaf
people. We consider ourselves fortunate in that our staff complement is
made up of individuals who have been with us for a significant number of years.
They have considerable expertise in the field of sensory impairment, especially
when it is compounded by additional disabilities. Hayfield's reputation for providing quality
residential and day care services and as mentioned above credit for this must be attributed to our
dedicated staff team, whose in-depth work requires them to respond to the
diverse and often complex needs of each service user. You are encouraged
to link to both the Residential
and Day Care
Services where you will be able to view valuable information on
the services we provide. On the Referrals page you will obtain information defining the criteria of the proposed service user we will consider for admission.
