Following admission to Hayfield
All
service users with residential status are registered with a local General Practitioner where they undergo a health check.

Dental, Optical and Audio checks are carried out to ensure we are up to speed with each individuals physical health and welfare.
Service users on prescribed medication are usually happy to accept staff input regarding the management of their medication.

Secured residents medication storage

The daily control of all medications, start and end dates, plus the regular monitoring of supplies is carried out on all the prescribed medications.

Staff follow the MARR System recommended by Boots the Chemist.

All medical appointments and medications are recorded on Hayfield’s medical database, as are all follow-ups or telephoned appointments to GP’s asking for advice on any given service user’s health management.

Hayfield staff usually attend all medically-related appointments with the service user to ensure appropriate communication with medical personnel, either at Local Health Centre level or with Hospital Specialists.  Hayfield staff can also provide vital background information to assist with diagnosis or treatment.
