Hayfield’s most valuable
resource is the care team who are responsible for
delivering the services Hayfield provides.

Each
member of the Hayfield team has different backgrounds, qualifications and experience, but
all demonstrate warmth, insight and a caring attitude.
There are currently in excess of forty individuals employed with Hayfield.

Our initial interview process
for new recruitment is comprehensive, consisting of interview by a panel of senior staff and service
users, after which a written paper is undertaken.
-
An informal tour
is also given to provide the candidate with the opportunity to gain some insight
into the work we do.
-
All
successful candidates are subject to
police checks and two satisfactory
references are sought before gaining employment.

Ongoing staff training following
their induction programme is crucial to maintaining skill levels and
expertise relevant to the success of our work.

Compulsory training includes British Sign Language to Stage II level,
First Aid Training, Health & Safety Training and Crisis and Aggression
Limitation & Management (C.A.L.M.) .

A
programme has been established to allow care staff to complete a mandatory
SVQ 3
Care qualification by 2005.

Care
staff are also given the opportunity to avail of
appropriate training in relevant subjects, together with in-house training as
required.

New staff always have a six month probationary period,
followed by a staff support meeting to assess their progress and their needs for the
following year.
Supervision is given regularly
to all staff and there is ample opportunity for
informal discussion regarding individual development & input.
