On a lovely Bank holiday week – end Ballater Street  enjoyed a week – end of food glorious food.  First stop was the annual TC afternoon tea party.  The baking fairies had been up early that morning to make lots of yummy cakes, scones with jam and some lovely banana bread.  Once the customary greetings were out the way everyone took there places at tables adorned with fabulous cakes piled high on cake stands with pots of tea and coffee with china cups ready to help the cakes go down.  By the end there were virtutually no cakes left as everyone had throughly all enjoyed them and having a good natter with everyone.  All the guys agreed this should be an annual event.

Deaf Connections a local Deaf community centre was trialing Afternoon tea and Sunday Carvery dinners.  All residents were asked if they would like to go for a sunday dinner that they didn’t cook and all jumped at the chance.  There were 3 courses to choose from and most enjoyed a lovely main course and desert.  It gives our residents to mix with other deaf people and see what options are out there in the deaf community.  Everyone enjoyed there meal and were full on the short walk back home which helped burn off those deserts.  Care staff will keep an eye out for any more of these events happening in the future.

At the end of the week – end there certainly weren’t any residents saying “Please sir can i have some more?”
