Responsible For
All aspects
of the running and development of Hayfield Ltd
Summary of the Post
The
Development Director is responsible for the strategic development of Hayfield
and the development and maintenance of its role as an influential and effective
organisation. Central to this post is the development and maintenance of links
as well as good working relationships with a wide range of organisations and
individuals across the statutory, voluntary and private sectors.
Principal Responsibilities
-
Provision
of professional advice and guidance to the Board of Directors
-
Development of strategic and operational plans relevant to the goals of
Hayfield
-
Ensure an
effective and safe work environment is established and maintained and all
relevant Health and Safety legislation is complied with
-
Development and maintenance of Hayfield services of the highest quality
-
Having
responsibility through the Board of Directors for the financial management
and control of all Hayfield income and expenditure
specifically
-
To
achieve optimum results within budgetary limits
-
To
present comprehensive financial statements and projections as required
-
To
promote, with integrity, Hayfield’s role and services
-
To manage
the monitoring and evaluation of Hayfield’s development and activities
-
To carry
out any other duties as may from time to time be assigned by the Board of
Directors

Managing Strategy
Managing People
-
Provide line
management support and supervision for Hayfield Departmental Managers and
oversee those staff jointly funded by both departments
-
Create and promote
opportunities to maintain and enhance effective working relationships within
the Staff team
-
Promote equal
opportunities and anti discriminatory practice at all levels within the
organisation
-
Be involved in the
selection of staff with appropriate skills for the responsibilities they
will be expected to carry out
Managing Resources
-
Ensure the generation
of resources is optimised to achieve Hayfield’s aims and objectives
-
Ensure budgets are
compiled and information given to the Board of Directors in line with agreed
policies, plans and priorities
-
Approve expenditure in
line with agreed budgets
-
Report regularly to
the Board of Directors on the income and expenditure of Hayfield
-
Managing Information
and Communication
Internally
-
Ensure effective
communication of information and issues that may affect Hayfield’s aims,
objectives and principles, including relevant strategic issues within the
organisation
-
Ensure that the Board
of Directors has relevant, accurate and timely advice and information needed
to make decisions
Externally
-
Ensure all relevant
information is effectively communicated to staff and service users
-
Ensure that an
effective advertising strategy for Hayfield’s services is maintained
-
Act as a spokesperson,
when necessary, for Hayfield, presenting a positive and professional
external image of the organisation
-
Create partnerships
and alliances with other organisations to further the aims of Hayfield and
improve provision for service users
Board of Directors
-
Support the Directors
in fulfilling their role effectively and appropriately
-
Ensure that items
requiring the consideration of the Directors are placed on the agenda for
their meeting
-
Ensure that major
policy and expenditure proposals are formulated for approval by the Board
-
Report regularly to
the Board on the progress of the organisation and all other relevant matters
