Job Description – Cook

Responsible to the Deputy Care Manager

Key Responsibilities

  • To undertake the responsibilities required for cooking and preparing of all food within the Day Care Kitchen for the Dining Room.

  • To prepare varied and healthy option menus.

  • To maintain a high standard of service in all areas of work.

  • To complete and maintain all necessary paperwork, ordering, stock control, menu preparation.

  • To be responsible for health, safety and hygiene within the kitchen and storeroom.

  • To ensure full compliance with the Food Safety & Health & Safety at Work Act 1974, and comply with statutory policies of Glasgow City Council.

Requirements

  • Friendly manner.

  • Clean and tidy appearance.

  • Good organisational ability.

  • Self motivated.

  • To have suitable qualifications for the post.

Miscellaneous

  • To undertake any other tasks as required by Managers or Director.
