Job Description - Cleaner

General Duties:

  • To be accountable, in the first instance to the Deputy Day Care Manager.

  • To clean staff offices, dining room, gymnasium, corridors, toilets and general areas as designated in the Day Centre.

  • To ensure appropriate standards of cleanliness and hygiene are maintained in all areas.

  • To ensure supplies are maintained in relation to cleaning materials, toilet rolls, paper towels, soaps etc.

  • To ensure all cleaning equipment is used appropriately and that any faults or malfunctions are reported to management immediately.

  • To be prepared to undertake training as requested by management, which is relevant to the job description.

  • To be able to work unsupervised and use initiative as appropriate.

  • To follow a set and agreed daily routine to clean the day care centre.

  • To be involved in ensuring that appropriate Health & Safety measures and procedures are followed.

  • To report any infringements or faults in the above to management immediately.

  • Hayfield staff have a duty to carry out their work in a manner which will never put employees, service users or others at risk, thereby creating a safe working environment.

  • Any other reasonable tasks from time to time as required by the Managers or Director.
