Job Description – Relief Worker The Relief Worker is responsible to the Depute Day Care Manager in the first instance and then the Day Care Manager.
Main Duties and Responsibilities To assist and support the Day Care Instructors [DCI’s] in the day-to-day delivery of Hayfield’s service provision to Deaf people who have additional disabilities. To work directly with the Service Users, under instruction from the Deputy Day Centre Manager in a group setting within the work-room or to accompany individuals on external activities, as and when required. To provide advice and guidance to Service Users and to assist in the completion of work assigned to them and to provide support to individuals on a daily basis. To ensure all notes and reports are written and maintained in a confidential manner. To participate fully as and when required in the service provision at Hayfield’s Day Centre and to become knowledgeable of the individuals within each group setting. To ensure at all times the health, safety and well-being of the Service Users and to act as a model of good behaviour. To be available, at short notice, to engage in the work of the Day Centre and to provide cover for Day Care Instructors as and when required. To be aware, at all times, of the confidentiality and sensitivity required when dealing with vulnerable adults. Any other reasonable tasks as required by Hayfield, via Deputy Manager or Manager.
